Jail Ministry

The ladies who serve in the jail ministry at Central are given the opportunity to share the light of God’s grace and mercy with those in the Victoria County jail. There is a relationship that is developed between the teachers and the inmates as the message of Jesus is taught. In many cases this relationship provides an opportunity for the inmates to get their first glimpse of hope. In addition, the opportunity to share Jesus with the inmates also supplies an added blessing for those who do the sharing – a renewed confidence in the Spirit. Our ladies meet with female inmates on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. on a rotation basis. The sessions usually last for an hour. Currently serving in the Jail Ministry are Barbara Martinez, Nancy Schumann, Barbara Smith, Lou Ellen Callarman, and Carmen McGuire.
